The Forest of hands and teeth is about a teenage girl named Mary, Mary has spent her whole life within the confines of her village. The sisterhood serves and protects them and is constantly reminding them that there is no outside world, they are the last of the human race. Outside of the fence that surrounds their village lies only a never ending forest and the unconsecrated. Mary longs to discover a world outside of the hopeless one she has grown up in.

If someone had told me this was a zombie book before reading it, I wouldn't have looked at it twice. It it was an incredible read that had me hooked on page 1 and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book. Carrie Ryan portays the dark world after the zombie apacolypse in a compelling way.

I hated it when I had to put it down!

The characters were real and believable and the world itself was fascinating and it seemed all too real. The end was a little disappointing until I discovered that there was a sequel. That made up for everything, I can't wait to read it.

It was a great book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes darker books and enjoys unravelling the mysteries of a new world.

So I've just finished reading the Night is for Hunting by John Marsden the 6th book in his 'tomorrow when the war began' series.



The plot is as follows, Ellie and her five friends head out into the australian outback to go camping. They just want to have some fun before school starts again. Little did they know that by deciding to going camping will change the course of all their lives. When they get back they discover that Australia has been invaded by foreign troops and they are the only ones in the district still on the loose. The teenagers have to make the hardest decisions of their lives, to either hide out in the bush or fight back?



This is honesly one of the best series I have ever read! It just keeps you reading and reading and reading. Sure it starts out a little slow but once you get into the first book you can't put it down! This book is very well written and it is possible told in one of the best ways possible. By the time I had finished the first book, I had completely fallen for John Marsden's way of writing this particular story. Ellie's voice is incredibly captivating. Read it, trust me you will NOT regret it.

Breathing underwater is a suprisingly good book. The story is about 16 year old Nick. On the surface he has everything anyone could ever want. He's good looking, popular, rich and smart. Underneath the surface Nick's father is abusive, unfortunately for Nick he has inherited not only his fathers looks but also his abusive personality. The story picks up when Nick is in court, his ex-girlfriend Cat has just filed for a restraining order. As Nick's story continues, we follow him through the process of admitting he has a problem and how he begins to deal with. This all takes place parallel with the events that lead up to Cat's leaving him and getting a restraining order.

I was honestly surprised at exactly how good this book was. I was expecting a decent but not great read. Instead I got a deep, revealing and meaningful look into the mind of a fictional abuser. I found it incredibly hard to put the book down. I can honestly say: "READ THIS!"

Breathing underwater also teaches us the most common signs of an abusive relationship. The book taught me warning signs, some I did already know others I didn't. Basically if your boyfriend/girlfriend acts anything like Nick, RUN for it and DON'T look back! Seriously though, read this book. I promise you won't regret it!
